PawSox v Richmond Braves
As I mentioned a couple of weeks back, a few of us who live in the Mid-Atlantic, DC/Richmond area have discussed getting together on Sunday, June 1 in Richmond for a game between the PawSox and the Richmond Braves.
I now have things set up to begin taking ticket orders for those interested.
Feel free to bring family, friends (but no Yankees fans) …
At last count there were 6 or so who've indicating wanting in. If we could somehow get 25 people, we'd qualify as a "group."
And this is funny to consider: If we were a group, we'd get welcomed on the scoreboard. Then we'd have to decide if having "Bambino's Curse" in lights at a Pawtucket Red Sox game would be a jinx or a reverse jinx?
Petey Goes for Four
I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, nevertheless, this factoid gives me goose bumps:
If he wins tomorrow, Martinez will have his fourth Opening Day win, more than any other Sox pitcher: Cy Young, Babe Ruth, Wes Ferrell, and Clemens all have three (Edes, Globe).
Jeezum crow! That's something.
Meanwhile, I don't know what kind of omen this is, if any, but it's snowing like all hell outside at the moment while it was 80 degrees yesterday here in Thomas Jefferson's county.
